Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia and one of the two states located on the island of Borneo. The state was granted its independence in July of 1963 since before that it was ruled by the Sultans.

Sarawak has a great number of geological and archaeological sites but also it is known for it’s beautiful forests, local wildlife and tribes. If you want to observe the local wildlife in their natural habitat head to Bako National Park where you can see all manner of animals typical for this region. Mulu National Park is known for it’s caves and bats.
