Introduction To Manali
The hill town resort of Manali is one of India’s most popular destinations for adventure seeking travelers. Located in the Kullu valley at the state of Himachal Pradesh and with the beautiful and awe inspiring Himalayas as a backdrop Manali is also a popular destination for honeymooners and anyone looking for a bit of tranquility in today’s hectic world.
For the adventure enthusiast there is plenty to choose from – a trek on one of the nearby mountains, paragliding, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking or the most popular past time – skiing. Travelers who gravitate toward the leisure side of travel can explore one of the many Buddhist monasteries (also known as bompas), Hadimba Temple (famous for it’s festival in May) or the Old Manali (which is far less commercial and far more charming then it’s modern counterpart).
There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area too – Rahalla Falls (at the altitude of 2501 meters), Rohtang Pass (offering beautiful views of the mountains) or Vashisth Hot Sulphur springs located in a small village known for it’s scenic beauty.
