Introduction To Antananarivo

Antananarivo is the largest city and the capital of Madagascar – it is built at a strategic spot in the center of the island on a narrow rocky ridge. Once upon time there were two forts, both of which still stand watching over the city and royal palaces. Today the city is home to the royal palaces, embassies, great number of churches and a mosque, along with great number of sights for visitors to explore.

There are many exciting things for visitor to do – visiting the open-air market (which is a combination between a street market and flea market); the Tsimbazaza Zoo (with gardens and enclosures that are home to Madagascar’s wildlife. If it is a night of fun a visitor is looking for then there is the Le Six disco club (which is located at 13 rue Ratsimilaho).
